FLAT PATTERNING/DRAPING
Vanessa is currently a graduate student at Penn State University, and currently learning more about flat patterning and draping. As part of her undergraduate degree she received introductory classes in flat patterning.
STUDIO - FALL 2024
For a studio project Vanessa did a turn of a century costume. A 1903 costume based on a piece from the Met Museum. Vanessa Draped, patterned and constructed this outfit.

For the show Tartuffe Vanessa was a draper for the show in charge of making Eleanor's essemble. Costume designer was Hilary Hayes.

CHRISTMAS CAROL FALL 2023-DRAPE/STITCHER
For the show Christmas Carol, Vanessa was a draper for one of the costumes for Christmas Carol, The rendering was an old pattern image, the bodice and sleeves were flat patterned and the skirt was traced in CLO3D, alongside being a draper Vanessa also stitched the costume was well.

PATTERNING CLASS - SPRING 2018
For her final project in Advanced Clothing Studies: Patternmaking, Vanessa was required to make a custom pant and bodice sloper, then create a garment with the skills she had learned. Vanessa made a custom sloper to fit herself and patterned a custom Batman varsity jacket.

LIGHT UP THE SKY AUTUMN 2018 - DRAPER/STITCHER
During her undergrad, Vanessa flat-patterned and draped a custom yellow linen gown from Bett Shouse's design for actress Rachel Hodge, playing Frances in the USU production of Light Up the Sky. The dress base was flat patterned and the pleats were draped on the form.
